UV Picosecond Laser Marking for BFS Single-Dose Eye Drop Packaging

Transparent single-dose eye drop packs provide very little marking area but may need several lines of product, batch and date information. This application combines a real marking sample with a dual-laser engineering concept for a 25-up BFS panel.

Why this BFS marking task is demanding

The process must control small text, low natural contrast, thin packaging walls, variable data, panel positioning and repeatability. Appearance alone cannot confirm container integrity, line speed or regulatory suitability.

Why evaluate UV picosecond marking

Short UV picosecond pulses can support fine feature definition and a controlled material response when the process is correctly tuned. The technology is non-contact and forms the mark without ink or ribbon, but representative production samples remain essential.

What must be validated before production

Confirm the real packaging material, required code, available mark area, cycle rate, inspection criteria, handling and storage conditions, container-integrity requirements, laser safety, extraction and data ownership.

Engineering data required for selection

  • Exact resin, colour, additives and wall thickness
  • Required text, code size and marking position
  • Cycle rate, panel pitch and product stability
  • Readability, OCR/OCV or code-verification criteria
  • Container integrity, guarding and extraction requirements

FAQ

UV picosecond laser marking FAQ

Can every transparent eye drop package be marked?

No universal result can be promised. Material formulation and wall thickness affect the response, so representative samples must be tested.

Can the system mark variable batch and expiry data?

Yes, when an approved controller and data source are included. Templates, permissions and change control must be defined for the project.

Can vision inspect the small white characters?

Potentially. The camera, lens, lighting and inspection task must be selected for the real character size, contrast, position and cycle rate.
